Is it worth to buy Samsung Galaxy A70 over Galaxy A50?

Hello Friends!!

In this blog, we are going to compare the recent Samsung smartphones Galaxy A70 with Galaxy A50. Also, we will see the comparison of Samsung Galaxy A70 vs Samsung Galaxy A50.

Samsung has launched both of these smartphones in the first quarter of this year and almost available in the market. Both phones come under the Samsung Galaxy A Series.

Let’s Start Comparing Samsung Galaxy A70 vs Samsung Galaxy A50:

Samsung Galaxy A70 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset while Galaxy A50 uses Samsung Exynos 9610 chipset. Exynos 9610 is Samsung Exynos 7 series processor. Check the comparison of Snapdragon 675 vs Exynos 9610.

Design:

This year Samsung has improved a lot in design aspects. Samsung has recently launched M-Series and A-Series and both of these series look awesome, We really can not take our eyes off of these smartphones. If we talk about Samsung Galaxy A70 vs Samsung Galaxy A50 particularly than both of these smartphones are great in look!

Both smartphones have an almost bezel-less display in front with only waterdrop notch for the front camera. Samsung called its infinity-U display. Samsung has done a great job to reduce the bezels from all around the screen and also make a chin very thin!

Both Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A50 have polycarbonate plastic body in the rear with 3D curved glass. Similarly, it gives a rainbow color look when looking at it from a certain angle and feels very nice in hand. Also, we are getting a Samsung brand logo in the rear. Also, we get a triple camera setup with a single LED flash in the rear.

Both Samsung Galaxy A70 And Galaxy A50 has a triple card slot that is two nano sim cards with dedicated micro SD card slot, I am pleased to see it because I am a guy who wants more memory for music, movies, images, etc. Therefore, we can say that both Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A50 are almost the same in design, There is the only difference is that Galaxy A70 is slightly bigger than Galaxy A50.

Display:

Samsung Galaxy A70 offers one of the largest display panels of 6.7 inches, Similarly, it is a display for media-loving people. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with an 86% screen-to-body ratio which will give amazing widescreen experience. The Super AMOLED display which will give sharper and clear image experience.

Whereas, Samsung Galaxy A50 offers a 6.4 inches display panel with Super AMOLED. The display comes with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution with an 84.9% screen-to-body ratio.

Both Samsung Galaxy A70 And Galaxy A50 come with super AMOLED display panels. Super AMOLED makes display quality very sharp and clear. Also, color production is very vibrant and saturated. It is also offering a great viewing angle. Brightness levels are also adequate, So even in the sunlight, we are not getting any trouble in the display quality.

Both have an almost full-screen display with very little bezel and only waterdrop notch for the front selfie camera.

Both smartphones have optical in-display fingerprint sensors.

Camera:

Both smartphones have a triple camera set up on the back and a front selfie camera, Because of this, we can say that these are camera-centric smartphones.

Galaxy A70 has a 32MP primary camera with F1.7 aperture, 8MP wide-angle camera with F2.2 aperture and a 5MP depth-sensing camera.

On the front,  Galaxy A70 has a 32MP selfie camera with an F2.0 aperture.

On the other side, Galaxy A50 has a 25MP primary camera with F1.7 aperture, 8MP wide-angle camera with F2.2 aperture and a 5MP depth-sensing camera.

Here Galaxy A50 has a 25MP front selfie camera with F2.0 aperture.

Both Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A50 has the same wide-angle and depth-sensing camera. But, there is an only difference that Galaxy A70 has 32MP and Galaxy A50 has 25MP primary camera. So Galaxy A70 is a little better than Galaxy A50 in the camera section.

Although both smartphones perform very well in the daylight condition. Photos are very sharp and clear, Even we get nice saturated and vibrant color details. Wide-angle shots squeeze the frame very well, which can come while capturing a picture of the monument and a large group of peoples.

The depth-sensing camera comes in when we are taking portrait shots. But in a low-light condition or an artificial light condition, I felt camera performance lacks sometimes in both of these smartphones. When comparing these two smartphones Galaxy A70 performs well than Galaxy A50 in low light conditions.

If we talk about video shooting, Galaxy A70 can shoot videos of [email protected] and [email protected]/240 fps and Galaxy A50 can shoot videos of [email protected] Also, both smartphones camera can shoot super slow-motion videos.

Both smartphones have a single front selfie camera without a dedicated LED flash. Galaxy A70 has 32MP F2.0 whereas Galaxy A50 has a 25MP F2.0 front selfie camera. The camera interface has AR Emoji stickers and various scene optimizer functions. Here also Galaxy A70 is a little better than Galaxy A50.

CPU and Performance:

Samsung Galaxy A70 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor While Samsung Galaxy A50 comes with Samsung Exynos 9610 processor. Both these processors are of 64bit and octa-core processors.

Check out my previous blog of comparison of these two processors, Snapdragon 675 vs Exynos 9610, Which is better?

Snapdragon 675 is an octa-core processor and has 2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A76 Kyro 460 Gold for high-performance & 6×1.7 GHz Cortex-A55 Kyro 460 Silver cores for the low-performance.  It has Adreno 612 GPU. This makes it very good at intensive gaming. We hardly get a drop in frame rates at medium graphics setting, But at a high setting sometimes, we are getting a drop in frame rates. Overall it gives good performance at gaming. Even daily routine tasks are buttery smooth with this processor.

Exynos 9610 has 4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 for an intensive task and 4×1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 cores for a light task. It has a Mali G72-MP3 GPU. Switching between routine apps is pretty efficient and also lag-free. Gaming performance on this processor is good and we can play intensive gaming lag-free at medium graphics setting. At this price segment, this processor is very good I can say.

Overall Snapdragon 675 has better benchmarks and improved GPU, So it wins this section.

Battery:

Galaxy A70 packs with 4500mAh Li-Po battery and 25W fast charger with a USB Type-C port. Whereas, Galaxy A50 packs with 4000mAh Li-Po battery and 15W Type-C charging port.

RAM and Storage:

Samsung has launched Galaxy A70 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and prices around 28,990/- Indian rupees.

On the other side, Galaxy A50 comes with two variant 4GB+64GB, 6GB+64GB. The price is around 18,990/- and 22,990/- Indian rupees respectively.

Overall we can say that here Samsung Galaxy A70 is a little better in almost all segments like display, camera, storage, battery, chipset than Galaxy A50. If we talk about a good smartphone within 20,000/- Indian rupees then I would like to suggest to purchase Samsung Galaxy A50.
